July Meeting at Hanky's
such a great evening with everyone! so sad that Sheila and Karin weren't able to attend. I can't believe I can even type after all the peach Sangria! Thank goodness it wasn't unbearably hot and the mosquitos weren't too bad. So for next month, we will meet at Becky's on August 30th, pending Becky's plans, with the 31st our second choice and the book is "One Thousand White Women" by Jim Fergus. You should be able to get it pretty inexpensively on Amazon in the used section, as it's been out for a while, but I have heard great reviews from a few individuals, so hopefully it will be an interesting read for the summer - what remains of it anyway. I so enjoy this group of diverse and interesting ladies, and appreciate the little amount of time we have together. September looms ahead with plans for Freedom at Carolines...an email will follow with tentative dates for a long weekend. Love to you all, hanky

Thank you Hanky for a wonderful evening. The food was absolutely divine. I enjoyed every morsel. I also really really loved the book and our discussion. It is one I will certainly recommend AND will read again.

ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read the book...I have only started it but I can tell I will enjoy it even more after our discussion last evening.
Unfortunately, I just realized that I can't make a meeting on Aug. 30. We're going to NJ the weekend before and stopping at the USOpen on Monday on our way home. Jonathan and I have never been to the Open so we're very excited! I certainly understand if changing the date just creates conflicts for others but I'll miss seeing you all. xo, Betsy
